Join the Dade County Historical Society and the Walker County Historical Society for a fascinating journey into the history of one of the region’s most significant coal mining communities.

Doug Carson of the Walker County Historical Society will present "The History of the Durham Coal Mine Community," exploring the rich heritage and lasting legacy of Durham and its connections to Dade County. While the mines were primarily located in Walker County, the lives and livelihoods of many Dade County families were intertwined with the community. Generations of local families have stories, memories, and deep roots connected to Durham, making this a program that will resonate with many throughout our area. 🏡❤️
